Along the journey you will also visit some famous landscapes including rugged coastlines and rock formations of Albany, Wave Rock and the outback.

Itinerary

Day 1 Perth to Dunsborough

Departing Perth, it is time to turn south as your once in a lifetime journey, Best of the South West Tour, begins.  Stop at the popular tourist town of Busselton and admire the Busselton Jetty. At 1.8kms it is the second longest jetty in the world. You’ll enjoy coffee by the water and a stroll along the beach.

Enjoy lunch and a swim at the incredible Meelup Beach, followed by an afternoon of tasting your way around the Margaret River Region. Boutique wineries, breweries, a gin distillery, chocolate factory and a cheese factory are all on the agenda, with samples all the way around.

Tonight you will be in the tourist hotspot of Dunsborough, with perfectly clear water, stunning beaches and great vibes, it is the perfect place to stop for your first night to get to know your new friends.

Day 2 Dunsborough to Walpole

This morning you will meet Wadandi custodian – Josh “Koomal” Whiteland from Koomal Dreaming. He will share his indigenous heritage and culture and a memorable underground didgeridoo performance in Ngilgi Cave. Check out some of the famous surf breaks of the region and then enjoy the galleries and boutiques of the Margaret River township.

Leaving Margaret River you’ll meet the giant stingrays at Hamelin Bay before heading to the 50-metre tall Diamond Tree. It’s a native Karri Tree once used as a fire lookout and if you are brave, climb to the top to enjoy amazing views over the whole region.

Finally, you’ll stop for the night in Walpole, home of the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk and absolute pristine wilderness.

Day 3 Walpole to Albany

This morning head to the Valley of the Giants and complete the iconic Tree Top Walkand Ancient Empire Walk. Taking you into the canopies of the Western Australia’s majestic Tingle Trees, which are unique to the region and over 400 years old.

After enjoying the tranquillity of the forest, you’ll head back to the ocean, this time to William Bay National Park, where you will be amazed by the paradise that is Greens Pool. Explore the enchanting Elephant Rocks, before enjoying lunch in Denmark, another beautiful township on the amazing South coast.

Heading to Albany you’ll see the incredible rock sculptures formed by erosion – Natural Bridge and The Gap at Torndirrup National Park. You’ll have some time have a look around the historical township and its many attractions before dinner.


Day 4 Albany to Esperance

This morning there is a short drive to the Porongurups, a unique mountain range that emerges from the landscape like an island. Hiking to the Granite Skywalk at Castle Rock, you’ll head through the spectacular forests. After a bit of a climb you will be rewarded with amazing views over the region.

Heading toward Esperance for the night, you’ll pass through some spectacular scenery, stopping at Twilight Beach on the way. Enjoy exploring this coastal town before dinner.


Day 5 Cape Le Grand National Park

The whole day is dedicated to exploring the stunning Cape Le Grand National Park, just 1 hour from Esperance. Cape Le Grand National Park is true beauty! It features sweeping heathlands, rugged coastal peaks and white sandy beaches voted the best in Australia. Pristine and perfect are two words that reflect its absolute beauty. The ocean here is practically transparent and you’ll be greeted with friendly kangaroos hanging out on the sand. Spend the day here exploring, swimming and bushwalking, with some free time to also do as you please.

Today we’ll embark on one of the best hikes of the tour, climbing Frenchman Peak. Enjoy your lunch here and be rewarded with stunning views of the coastal plains. Then enjoy a final sunset together with your new friends, with a cold beer in hand, before heading back to Esperance for dinner and your final night together.


Day 6 Esperance to Perth

Today is the last day of the tour and there is a lot of distance to cover. It will be an early start heading back to Perth. Enjoy lunch in a typical outback town followed by a stop at the curious Wave Rock.

Your final stop will be in York, WA’s oldest town. Learn about the fascinating history of the Rabbit Proof Fence before heading into Perth, concluding your once in a lifetime adventure on the 6 Day Best of the South West Tour.
