Day 1 Perth to Fitzgerald River National Park

Start your 6 Day Secrets of Esperance Tour from Perth, where you will travel East towards York, WA’s oldest inland town. A stop for coffee in York and then you will travel further to Wave Rock, for lunch by this impressive sight. By late afternoon you will arrive in Fitzgerald River National Park, an internationally recognised World Biosphere and haven for flora and fauna.

Today is the biggest travel day, but you are rewarded with the camping in your swag in the stunning Fitzgerald River National Park. The campground has toilet facilities but no shower facilities.

Day 2 Esperance & Cape Le Grand National Park

Start the morning with a nice hike up East Mt Baron before heading into Esperance for a coffee and explore. Then prepare yourself for the beauty that is Cape Le Grand National Park.

Cape Le Grand National Park is true beauty! It features sweeping heathlands, rugged coastal peaks and white sandy beaches voted the best in Australia. Pristine and perfect are two words that reflect its absolute beauty. The ocean here is practically transparent and this is where you will find friendly kangaroos hanging out on the sand. You’ll spend the whole day here exploring, swimming and bushwalking, along with a bit of free time to do as you please.

Spend the night under the stars, swag camping with toilet and shower facilities at Cape Le Grand National Park.

Day 3 Cape Le Grand National Park & Stirling Ranges

This morning we head up Frenchman Peak for some glorious views across the vast National Park. Leaving Cape Le Grand behind, we now head for the Stirling Range National Park, via Esperance for lunch. Depending on the time of the year, in spring you’ll seek out the beautiful wildflowers, or in the heat of summer, some secret swimming spots.

Tonight, you will swag camp at a private campground in the Stirling Ranges with shower and toilet facilities.

Day 4 Stirling Ranges & South West Coast

Today you will find yourself at the Porongurups, a unique mountain range that rises above the landscape like an island. Hiking to the Granite Skywalk at Castle Rock, you’ll head through the spectacular forests. After a bit of a climb you will be rewarded with amazing views over the region.

Heading towards Albany you’ll see the incredible rock sculptures formed by erosion – Natural Bridge and The Gap at the Torndirrup National Park. The next stop is William Bay National Park, where  Greens Pool awaits you. A tranquil setting where white sandy beaches meet granite boulders with calm water. Following Greens Pool you will visit Elephant Rocks, which looks like a herd of elephants wading in the shallow turquoise water.

The last stop of the day is at the largest Tingle Tree in Western Australia. Tonight, we camp at Quinninup Eco Tourist Park which has shower and toilet facilities.

Day 5 Margaret River

After breakfast, those feeling brave can climb the 50 metre Diamond Tree. This native Karri Tree was once used as a fire lookout and is the only wooden tree top tower in the world.

Then today will be about tasting your way around the Margaret River Region. Boutique wineries, breweries, a gin distillery, chocolate factory and a cheese factory are all on the agenda, with samples all the way around.

Tonight, we camp at Big Valley Caravan Park in Margaret River which has shower and toilet facilities.

Day 6 Margaret River to Perth

Today being the last day of the tour you will roll up your swag one last time before jumping on the bus to Dunsborough. You will meet Wadandi custodian – Josh “Koomal” Whiteland from Koomal Dreaming. He will share his indigenous heritage and culture and a memorable underground didgeridoo performance in Ngilgi Cave. Taste native foods, and experience traditional fire-lighting on this unique Indigenous cultural experience.

Your last stop will be the popular tourist town of Busselton, where you can wander along the Busselton Jetty. At 1.8kms it is the second longest jetty in the world. Enjoy a coffee by the water and a stroll along the beach, before one last stint on the road has us arriving into Perth around 6 pm.

Make sure you have booked your Perth accommodation prior to departure, and then exchange details with your lifelong friends you’ve made on this amazing journey together.
