Itinerary

Day 1

Your once in a lifetime Margaret River & Great Southern Private Luxury Tour begins with your experienced guide meeting you at your Perth accommodation. After grabbing the all-important coffee, you will be on your way to the Margaret River Region. As you head South the first stop will be Mandurah, to board the Reel Affair II and pull crayfish pots whilst learning about Western Australian Rock Lobster and the conservation efforts. After pulling the crayfish pots, cruise through Mandurah’s stunning canals and waterways dining on a barbeque seafood buffet lunch.

Continue further down the coast, stopping at the popular tourist town of Busselton and wander along the Busselton Jetty. At 1.8kms it is the second longest jetty in the world. Following Busselton, visit Ngilgi Cave, one of the region’s most popular attractions. Head underground for a magical experience before being wowed by one of the region’s most picture-perfect spots – Meelup Beach.  Enjoy a swim or a stroll along the beautiful white sand as you admire the crystal-clear water.

This evening arrive at Smiths Beach Resort in Yallingup where you’ll settle into your ocean view room for two nights. Tonight, a fine dining dinner experience awaits you at Lamont’s restaurant in the resort. It boasts a superb a la carte selection of mouth-watering Australian cuisine brought together by Kate Lamont, one of Western Australia’s most successful chefs with a career spanning over three decades

Day 2

Start the day with an in-room gourmet breakfast hamper, courtesy of Lamont’s, filled with fresh local produce. Heading out for the day, your first stop will be Barnyard 1978 for honey tastings straight from the hive. Then enjoy the galleries and boutiques of the Margaret River township.

Morning tea will be served on the veranda setting at the stunning Leeuwin Estate followed by a private behind the scenes tour, learning about its history, their winemaking process and a guided wine tasting of a selection of Leeuwin Estate wines. Following this is a delectable seven-course degustation menu, carefully matched with current release and museum selected Leeuwin Estate wines – a truly memorable culinary experience. This afternoon you will get to taste your way around the cellar doors of this great wine region, an experience tailored just to you. Your options include premium establishments such as Gabriel’s Chocolate, the Grove Distillery and Wills Domain.

This evening enjoy the sunset over the Indian Ocean from your private balcony and a platter of local produce that your guide collected throughout the day.

Day 3

This morning enjoy breakfast at a local hotspot - The White Elephant Beach Café. From August to December you may even spot some whales as you take in the fantastic ocean views. Afterwards head to the Margaret River Mouth and the famous surf break, Surfers Point. Leaving Margaret River, head further south to see the giant resident stingrays at Hamelin Bay. Heading into the magical forests near Pemberton your next exceptional dining experience is at Silkwood Estate. Be wowed by award-winning wines and sumptuous gourmet delights from their lakeside restaurant.

After lunch head to the Valley of the Giants and complete the iconic Tree Top Walk. Taking you into the canopies, over 40 metres above the ground, amongst Western Australia’s majestic tingle trees, which are unique to the region and over 400 years old.

Tonight, you will stay in a luxurious spa villa at Aiyana Retreat, nestled among the bush near Denmark. After you have checked in, you are in for a treat as renowned Chef Silas from Pepper & Salt restaurant joins you in your villa for a private cooking masterclass. He will prepare a three-course meal while giving you tips on how to use spice to enhance your cooking.

Day 4

This morning enjoy breakfast at the beautiful Bibbulmun Café, followed by a stroll along Mokare Heritage Trail which follows the Denmark River. The next stop is William Bay National Park where Greens Pool awaits you. Be stunned by its tranquil setting, where white sandy beaches meet granite boulders with calm water creating the ultimate postcard setting. Following Greens Pool you will visit Elephant Rocks, which looks like a herd of elephants wading in the shallow turquoise water.

The final amazing culinary experience on your tour is at the Lake House Winery for lunch. Enjoy the warm hospitality, fine wines and wholesome food savouring these culinary experiences. With a stunning setting, you’ll enjoy their signature tasting menu with accompanying beverages.

Take the scenic coastal drive towards Albany, visiting Torndirrup National Park to be amazed by the dramatic coastal rock formations of The Gap and Natural Bridge. Come late afternoon you’ll be taking in spectacular views over Albany from Mount Clarence. Have one last toast of West Australian wine with your guide, before they take you to the airport for your 5.25 pm flight back to Perth. You will be greeted at the airport by a driver and transferred back to you Perth accommodation, arriving at your hotel at approximately 7.30 pm, ready to settle in and reminisce on a truly memorable experience.
