A welcome stop for travellers on the Nanutarra-Munjina Road between the World Heritage listed Ningaloo Reef and Karjini National Park. It is a family owned and managed working cattle station offering an array of experiences, such as a cafe, restaurant, shady campsites, wilderness campsites, cozy accommodation, walks, bird watching and a 4X4 self-drive safari. Accessible by two-wheel drive vehicles, Cheela Plains Station Stay provides a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the breathtaking landscapes of the Pilbara, making it an ideal destination for those seeking both adventure and serenity in this stunning region.

Red Plains - Powered Campsite

An ideal stop on the long stretch of road between Ningaloo Reef and Karijini National Park (approximately 5 hours from Exmouth or Coral Bay and 3 hours from the Karijini Visitor’s Centre). Maximum occupancy is 1 vehicle (plus tent, trailer or caravan) and up to 6 people per site. All vehicles must be parked in their designated site. Powered Campsites are at the Red Plains Station Campground. They are situated around a grass oval, have access to potable water, and are suitable for camper trailers, caravans and motor homes. Caravans can remain hitched, and tents can be pitched up on the lawn. Some sites have shade. We have Telstra and Optus signal, hot showers, coin operated washing machines, a communal fire pit and camp kitchen with a fridge, stove and sink. Children 6 yrs to 15 yrs half price and 0 to 5 yrs are FOC. Check in is from 11:00 am, check out is at 10:00 am.

Red Plains - Unpowered Campsite

Woongarra Pool Bush Campsite

2 NIGHT MINIMUM One of our favourite locations on the station is the naturally formed Woongarra Pool on the Beasley River; a stunning, remote location to enjoy a night under the stars. There are five, designated campsites adequately spaced for privacy but can also comfortably accommodate a small group. Dogs on leads are very welcome. 4x4 access only. A communal bush shower and long-drop toilet are provided and each site has a small campfire ring. BYO firewood or purchase at reception. The ‘Bush Kitchen’ is located nearby which consists of a large fire pit and sweeping views of the range. Enjoy exploring the gorge, swimming at Mussel Pool and following the walking trails including Mussel Pool Look Out, Perentie Fall and The Wall. Children 6 yrs to 15 yrs half price and 0 to 5 yrs are FOC.
Wilderness Mussel Pool Bush Campsite

2 NIGHT MINIMUM Exclusive bush campsites located along the Beasley River Gorge close to Mussel Pool swimming hole. 4WD access only. Suitable for 4WD vehicles, off-road caravans, camper trailers and rooftop tents. Campsites are on the river pebbles. There are seven family sized campsites located on the river pebbles a short walk from Mussel Pool. Each site has a small fire ring, BYO firewood or purchase at reception. Dogs on leads are very welcome. You must have your own chemical or bucket toilet when staying at Mussel Pool as ground water flows into the swimming holes. Portable toilet hire is available when you book your campsite. Enjoy exploring the gorge and following the walking trails including Mussel Pool Look Out, Perentie Fall and The Wall. Children 6 yrs to 15 yrs half price and 0 to 5 yrs are FOC. Check-in for the Wilderness Campsites is between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm ONLY

SEASONAL TOURIST ACCOMMODATION RATE POLICY •Full payment is required at time of booking. •Cancellation of booking 14 days or more prior to check-in is refunded in full, less a $25.00 cancellation fee. •Cancellation of booking less than 14 days prior to check-in will be considered non-refundable. •No refunds for early departures. •In the event wilderness campsites are closed due to environmental conditions, such as weather, the standard cancellation fees above apply. •Wilderness campers arriving after 4:00pm will not be permitted to travel to their site until the following day. A site on the main campground will be offered if available, alternatively an overflow site will be provided. No refunds for sites or gorge access will be issued in this instance. •Up to 24 hours prior to arrival, guests may request to change dates within the current season with no extra fees (as an example, possible reasons for the change may be due to weather or family illness). CANCELLATIONS DUE TO GOVERNMENT TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS Where a customer cancels due to Government restrictions that are either not removed as expected, extended, or reimposed, the customer will be contacted and offered a refund or credit note (to be used later), where such an offer is at the absolute discretion of the operator. The operator reserves the right to withhold some monies to cover administrative expenses and other losses, dependent on when notice of cancellation is given by the customer. KEY RETURN AND TRACK USAGE POLICY •Guests are required to return their 4x4 Safari gate key prior to departure. Failure to do so will incur a fee of $50. •All visitors must comply with posted road signs throughout the property for safety and operational reasons. •Cheela Plains Station is an active cattle station, and certain tracks are reserved for staff use only. These tracks are not accessible to guests. Guests must restrict their driving to the designated tracks as indicated on the provided property map. If any guest is found driving outside these approved areas, their booking will be cancelled immediately, and no refund will be issued. PET POLICY Pets are permitted on leads but are not allowed to enter accommodation. The extra cleaning fee of $75 will be charged if evidence of pets is found in accommodation. This does not apply to seeing eye dogs. EXTRA CLEANING FEE A fee of $75 is charged where excessive cleaning is required. This includes rooms with lingering cigarette smoke. SMOKING POLICY Smoking is allowed in designated areas only. ALL GUESTS STAYING AT CHEELA PLAINS STATION STAY AGREE TO: •ensure that all occupants treat the Property and all fittings with reasonable care and you agree to pay for any damage caused by misuse, neglect or abuse during your occupancy. •ensure that all occupants act in a manner that does not cause any nuisance or disturbance to nearby occupiers. •comply with all applicable laws and with the regulations. •to vacate the Property in a reasonably clean condition, including all barbeques and other fittings. •pay any reasonable excess cleaning fees if the Property is not left in a clean condition. •not exceed the maximum number of occupants specified in the Booking Agreement.
