Each year, we are introducing new and exciting events on Cheela. In 2020, we again hosted our 'Space Safari' an introduction to astrophotography under the magnificent night sky of the Pilbara. Everything from landscape to deep-sky astrophotography will be covered. Stay tuned for the announcement of 2021 event dates.

Description

Cheela Plains Station is a family owned and managed working cattle station nestled in the semi-arid, pastoral rangelands of the Pilbara in northern Western Australia. Our station-stay is a welcome stop for travellers on the Nanutarra-Munjina Road between the World Heritage listed Ningaloo Reef and Karjini National Park.

Double Room with Dinner and Light Breakfast - 2 Adults

At Cheela Plains the rooms are air-conditioned concrete base donga rooms with a double bed, linen and towels, a small desk and bar fridge. All of our accommodation rooms utilize shared ablutions, shower and laundry facilities. As an accommodation guest you will have access to the dining room where you can help yourself to tea and coffee or visit with other guests and staff. Complementary light breakfast is available until 9:00am. You are welcome to add a cooked breakfast for an additional $25 per person; available from 7:30am - 9:00am. Your two course dinner is served at 6:30pm in the Red Plains dining room where you will meet other guests and station staff. BYO. Please note that if your booking falls on a Wednesday, dinner will be burgers around the campfire - only. The two course dinner and drink is not available on Wednesday nights. Please specify any dietary requirements in the comments box when making your booking. The Red Plains Café is open for Cuppa & Cake daily from 7:30am till 2:30pm. A short walk up the hill at sunset along the Sunset Walking Trail is a spectacular way to finish a day in the outback. Stunning 360 degree views of the Cheela Plain are sure to impress. Feel free to join in around our unique blazing fire pit built by the Guildford Grammar School Rowing Crew before or after dinner. Cheela Plains is a remote cattle station, 90km from the mining town of Paraburdoo, where there is a fuel station and supermarket. Consider our Gorge Safari Self Drive 4X4 for a true taste of the outback off the beaten track, complementary when staying at Cheela Plains Station. Follow our map 41 kms to the Beasley Gorge and spend the day exploring Mussel Pool, Perentie Fall, Mussel Pool Lookout and The Wall. A $20 bond is required for the key to the locked gate. Please observe the signs and road closures as we are passionate about protecting our ecosystem for future generations to enjoy. In case of a breakdown, stay with the vehicle until someone comes to find you. The Family Room faces our grass courtyard and is air-conditioned with a queen size bed and two single beds, plus a child roll out trundle bed. There is also a port-a-cot (BYO cot linen) and a small refrigerator. All of our accommodation rooms utilize shared ablutions, shower and laundry facilities. The Family room includes dinner and a complementary light breakfast. Your two course dinner is served at 6:30pm in the Red Plains dining room where you will meet other guests and station staff. BYO. Plainsview Lodge - Queen Ensuite with Dinner and Light Breakfast

Plainsview Lodge has been fully refurbished with new furniture, linen, split system air conditioning and undercover parking. These rooms have a large shady deck looking south, out over the Red Plains. Each room has a Queen bed, an ensuite, kettle and a small fridge. A two course "set menu" dinner for two adults is included in your room rate and is served at 6:30pm in the Red Plains dining room. BYO. Red Plains - Powered Campsites

An ideal stop on the long stretch of road between Ningaloo Reef and Karijini National Park (approximately 5 hours from Exmouth or Coral Bay and 3 hours from the Karijini Visitor’s Centre). Red Plains Powered campsites are at the main Station Campground and are suitable for caravans, motor homes and camper trailers. Tents may be put up on the grass oval. We have shade, hot showers, toilets, coin washing machines, a communal fire pit and camp kitchen with a fridge, stove and sink. Children 6yrs to 15years half price, 0 to 5yrs free. The Red Plains Café is open daily from 7:30am till 2:30pm. If you would like to join us for a two course dinner in the Red Plains Dining Room at 6:30pm, please add dinner to your booking and note any dietary requirements in the comments box. Please note that if your booking falls on a Wednesday, dinner will be burgers around the campfire - only. The two course dinner and drink is not available on Wednesday nights. Join in around our unique blazing fire pit built by the Guildford Grammar School Rowing Crew for a drink or to cook dinner or breakfast over the smouldering Snakewood coals. If staying only one night at the Station Stay campground, the Gorge Safari Self Drive 4X4 is $15 per adult, $7.50 per child (6-15yrs) and free for children under 5. Wilderness Mussel Pool Bush Campsite

Exclusive bush campsites located along the Beasley River Gorge close to Mussel Pool swimming hole. Suitable for off road caravans, camper trailers and roof top tents. Campsites are all on the river pebbles. The spectacular Beasley River Gorge, 36 kms from the Cheela Plains Station Stay, has been cleansed by summer rains thanks to Tropical Cyclone Damian in February 2020. Numerous family campsites are located on the rocky riverbed a short walk from Mussel Pool. The flowing summer rain, now underground, has brought plenty of driftwood for you to collect for your campfire. A small fire ring is at each campsite. Dogs on leads are very welcome. All campsites at Beasley River Gorge must have their own chemical or bucket toilet as ground water flows into the swimming holes. Portable Toilet Hire available when you book your campsite. Tents and bedding also available for hire. Children 6yrs to 15years half price, Under 6yrs free. On the way into the Beasley River Gorge campsite, a few kilometres downstream, just before you drive across the Beasley riverbed, there is a bush shower and toilet at Woongarra Pool which you are welcome to use. (all facilities were built by the Guildford Grammar School Rowing Crew). Please arrive at Cheela Plains Station Stay Reception by 4pm to collect your gate key ($20 key deposit). This will give you time to drive out to Mussel Pool and find your campsite. Your adventure begins by following the map 36 kms to the Beasley River Gorge where you will find your campsite. Please return your key to the Cheela Plains Station Stay office by 11am on your day of departure and collect your key deposit. Enjoy exploring the gorge and following the walking trails including Mussel Pool Look Out, Perentie Fall and The Wall. Enjoy a swim in the river pool (at your own risk). Woongarra Pool Bush Campsites

Woongarra Pool is 34km from Cheela Plains Reception and is accessible by 4X4 high clearance vehicles and caravans, (12.5km gravel road). A stunning, remote location to enjoy a night under the stars. Great campsite for groups searching for the perfect site to connect with nature away from modern day digital technology. Bush shower, toilet, and campfire. Children 6yrs to 15years half price, under 6yrs free. Tents and bedding also available for hire. Please arrive at Cheela Plains Station Stay Reception by 4pm to collect your gate key. ($20 key deposit). This will give you time to drive out to Woongarra Pool and find your campsite. Please return your key to the Cheela Plains Station Stay office by 11am on your day of departure and collect your key deposit. Enjoy exploring the gorge and following the walking trails including Mussel Pool Look Out, Perentie Fall and The Wall. Enjoy a swim in the river pool (at your own risk). These terms and conditions apply to all bookings made at Cheela Plains Station Stay. Placing a booking with Cheela Plains Station Stay constitute acceptance of these terms and conditions. You agree to ensure that all occupants treat the Property and all fittings with reasonable care and you agree to pay for any damage caused by misuse neglect or abuse during your occupancy. You agree to ensure that all occupants act in a manner that does not cause any nuisance or disturbance to nearby occupiers. Pets are permitted on leads but you agree that they are not allowed to enter accommodation or cleaning fees will apply $75.00. This does not apply to seeing eye dogs. You agree to comply with all applicable laws and with the regulations. You agree to vacate the Property in a reasonably clean condition including all barbeques and other fittings.
