At the Western Australia Visitor Centre, we are committed to environmental, social and economic sustainability. Guided by our Keep WA Wonderful initiative, we integrate environmental, social and economic sustainability into every visitor interaction through initiatives that reduce waste, support local businesses, celebrate Aboriginal culture, strengthen communities and improve accessibility.

Our wins in 2025 - 2026 include:

• 28,229 visitors assisted,
• $3.6 million in additional visitor expenditure generated across accommodation, hospitality, attractions, tours, events and retail.
• $2.5 million in gross value added to the economy
• 22 full-time equivalent tourism jobs supported

Respect Country

We are committed to helping visitors connect with Aboriginal culture in a respectful and meaningful way. Our team promotes Aboriginal-owned tours and experiences across Western Australia, supported by cultural awareness training and a range of helpful resources. Visitors can also explore Indigenous artwork in our centre, including the striking ceiling mural by Western Australian Aboriginal artist Jade Dolman, which celebrates the connections between Perth and the state's diverse tourism regions.

Support Local WA

We are committed to supporting Western Australia’s visitor economy by connecting visitors with authentic local experiences. Our team promotes WA-owned tours, attractions, accommodation and regional experiences, helping visitors discover more of the State while supporting local businesses and communities. We also showcase a carefully selected range of WA-made gifts, artwork and artisan products, with every purchase contributing to the local economy. Through our knowledgeable local team and strong industry partnerships, we help visitors experience the very best of Western Australia.

Travel Responsibly & Care for Our Places

We encourage visitors to explore Western Australia responsibly by providing practical travel advice that helps protect the State’s unique landscapes, wildlife and communities. Our team promotes safe and sustainable travel practices, including planning ahead, staying informed about road and weather conditions, and respecting local environments. We also encourage visitors to choose eco-certified experiences, observe wildlife responsibly and use designated camping areas wherever possible.

Stronger Communities

We are committed to creating welcoming and inclusive visitor experiences while supporting Western Australia’s tourism workforce and communities. Through student placements, professional development and industry partnerships, we help build the future of tourism in WA. We also support accessible travel through our Senior Breaks program and comprehensive Accessibility Guide, helping visitors plan with confidence. During times of disruption, our team provides personalised assistance to help travellers stay informed, connected and supported.

Reducing Our Footprint

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact through digital innovation and sustainable workplace practices. By providing electronic tickets, online visitor information and 24/7 assistance through our AI-powered Visitor Assistant, Westy, we help minimise paper use while maintaining easy access to travel information. We also support sustainability through waste reduction, recycling initiatives and energy-efficient operations, helping create a more sustainable future for Western Australia’s visitor industry.
