Originally named ‘Mandjoogoordap’ by the Bindjareb people of the Noongar nation which translates to “Meeting place of the heart”, Mandurah is less than an hour from Perth by car or train, Mandurah is Western Australia’s largest regional city. Set against a backdrop of beautiful beaches, Mandurah is a perfect destination for a day trip, romantic weekend getaway or family holiday. Once you have explored all that the urban hub of Mandurah has to offer, head into the peel region. Here you will take a step into nature, whether it be hiking, canoeing, biking riding, or just taking a moment to enjoy your surroundings. The town of Dwellingup is a great place to start. With the Bibbulmun Track and Munda Biddi Trail going right through town, spending a day or even a few hours on the trails is easy. You will also find some great dams and waterways in the area, along with some great nature style camping for you to enjoy, all within a few hours of Perth.
