Starting at Emu Point Boast Pens in Oyster Harbour you will hear a live, humour filled commentary which covers the legend of ANZAC, the history of Western Australia’s first settlement and Aboriginal history and Dreamtime stories. A glass bottom viewing panel allows you to see other mysteries of the deep which may include the giant smooth-backed stingray. You even get to try tasting some local products. These may include oysters from the harbour, local fruits, natural raw honey provided by a local bee keeper. Please note these change seasonally. You will then cross Oyster Harbour and enter the Kalgan River which is said to be the oldest continuing flowing river in the world. After stopping on the bank, you will be offered tea, coffee and a hot savoury damper. Throughout the cruise there is a great interaction with wildlife which may include white bellied sea eagles, ospreys, pelicans etc, this is truly a bird watcher’s dream.. As you return across the harbour to the Emu Point Boat Pens the captain will recite some local bush poetry about the scenic beauty and wildlife you have just witnessed.
